Description
Pamphlet entitled Voting in Vermont, published in 1971 by the League of Women Voters of Vermont. The front cover is illustrated with a drawing of three very different voters having entered a voting booth. The pamphlet details eligibility requirements for voting in Vermont, including for students, and outlines the ways in which Vermonters can have a role in the candidate nominating process for local, state, and national offices. The pamphlet concludes with the Freeman's Oath, originally incorporated into the state constitution in 1777, and updated in 1994 under the Inclusive Language Revision Amendment to become the Voter's Oath. This oath calls for Vermonters to vote according to one's conscience, "without fear or favor of any person."
