Document outlining the sixteen founding principles of the Green Mountain Republican Association, which were based upon strict adherence to the United States Constitution. Notable here is the organization's stance on slavery (number ten), advocating for the "subject of slavery to remain where the constitution of the United States has left it," but supporting the allocation of a "suitable portion" of the Western or South Western territories "for the colonization of emancipated slaves where under the protection of the general government, they should be encouraged to establish free, civil Institutions, pursue agricultural, and other useful, industrial occupations establish schools, organize churches, and finally to attain the most elevated position in the scale of human society, of which their intellects are susceptible."
