Title

Oral history interview with Wendy Spector

Description

Wendy Spector of Woodstock, Vermont, describes her family's experience of the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that it was more positive for them than many others. She explains that two of their adult children and their partners left homes in New York and New Orleans and moved in with them, forming a multi-generational pod. Her work as a digital media manager at Sharon Academy in Sharon, Vermont, was minimally impacted since she was already primarily working remotely. However, she comments on some changes to her role as a ski ambassador at Killington Ski Resort. She also briefly discusses both her work with the Woodstock Area Relief Fund, which was created to raise money to support people affected by the pandemic, and the pandemic's broader impact on Woodstock's economy as a tourist town.

Wendy Spector joined the staff at the Sharon Academy in Woodstock, Vermont, in 2018. She had previously worked in marketing in the private sector for ten years as well as working part-time and serving her local community in volunteer and elected positions while raising four children to adulthood.
