Title

Oral history interview with Nina Neptune

Description

Nina Neptune discusses her experiences as a high school senior at Green Mountain Union High School in Chester, Vermont, during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. She also talks about her work as a nutrition aide and a cook at a nursing home at the same time. She describes the effect isolation orders had on her mental health, causing her to struggle with schoolwork. Other topics she mentions include the difficulties of online learning, starting college during the pandemic, being in a family of healthcare workers, and her perception of how Vermonters handled the pandemic.

At the time of this interview in 2024, Nina Neptune was a senior at Vermont State University's campus in Castleton, Vermont (formerly Castleton University). Originally from Massachusetts, she and her family moved to Windsor County, Vermont, before the COVID-19 pandemic began. During high school, and into the pandemic, she worked as a nutrition aide and then cook at a nursing home.
