Emily Demers discusses her experiences as a student at St. Johnsbury Academy in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, during the COVID-19 pandemic. She describes the impact of the pandemic on her junior and senior years of high school as well as on the process of starting college. She also talks about working at The White Market, a small, family-owned grocery store in St. Johnsbury for the first few months after the pandemic reached Vermont and her family's conflicting feelings about vaccination.

At the time of this interview, Emily Demers was a student at Vermont State University's campus in Castleton, Vermont. Her previous education included high school at St. Johnsbury Academy in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, and a year of college at Bishop's University in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
