Avram Patt describes growing up in the Amalgamated Housing Cooperative in the Bronx, New York, his time at Columbia University, including the student strikes in 1968, his transfer to Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont, and his two years working at Bread and Puppet Theater. He speaks of using his knowledge of Yiddish in theater productions, of forming the Nisht Geferlach Klezmer Band, Vermont's only klezmer band, and of Dennis Murphy, who founded the Plainfield Village Gamelan (formerly the Goddard Gamelan). Finally, he talks of helping to develop public transportation in Central Vermont, and of his work at the Washington Electric Cooperative.
