Title

Oral history interview with Caitlin Adair

Description

Caitlin Adair describes growing up in the Midwest, attending college at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and her involvement with the anti-war movement. She speaks of moving with her husband to New York City for two years, then seeking a more rural life in Marlboro, Vermont, where they were attracted by the rich music culture at the Marlboro Music School and Festival, and the presence of Margaret MacArthur. She also speaks of working with Dan MacArthur's construction company and of building her own home, of the sense of community in Marlboro, and of being taught old methods of rural living by her Vermont neighbors. She ends with describing the origin of the Brattleboro Food Co-op and the importance of connecting with the earth.
