Camp Wihakowi for Girls
Title
Camp Wihakowi for Girls
Description
Camp Wihakowi for girls was started by Professor and Mrs. Arthur Winslow and Mr. & Mrs. E.W. Clark on the site of the Northfield fairgrounds in 1921. Later they moved the camp to a site near Harlow Bridge (Route 12A) and then eventually to Bull Run Road where they constructed buildings and dammed the brook for a swimming hole. The location of the camp in this particular photo is unknown, but given the sign and fence in the background, it may be the Bull Run location. Today the former camp is home to The Woods Lodge and offers events, catering and accommodations.
