Granite worker's boardinghouse

Photograph of Granite workers outside the boardinghouse where they stayed. Many young granite workers would rent a room in a boardinghouse until they bought houses of their own. Boardinghouses were usually owned by granite companies, older granite workers, or the widows of granite workers.
