Photograph of Nelson W. Fisk sitting in front of a house in Isle La Motte, Vermont. Fisk owned a marble quarry in Isle La Motte and was a member of the Vermont House of Representatives from 1882 to 1888, of the Vermont Senate from 1888 to 1890, and the 41st lieutenant governor of Vermont from 1896 to 1898. In 1901, then Vice President Theodore Roosevelt was visiting Fisk at his home when the former was informed that President McKinley had been shot.
