Postcard featuring a photograph of a giant block of granite being hauled along Main St. in Barre, Vermont. Twenty yoked cattle are pulling the granite on a low cart. Many people are standing in the street to watch. At the left side of the image, the H.Z. Mills dry goods store is visible. A hand written note on the back says "This load of granite is on its way to North End." The three-story building to the left is known as the Gladding Block (52-54 North Main Street); the taller building in the center is the French Block (58-76 North Main Street).
