Description
Photo taken at the dedication of the Block House Point Monument, which was originally erected in 1912 by the Vermont Sons of the American Revolution. The tablet's inscription reads: "On this site was erected in July 1781 "Loyal Block House" by Capt. Justus Sherwood of the Queen's Loyal Rangers. This spot was a stopping place for British soldiers during the Revolution and from here were conducted the negotiations between the Republic of Vermont and the British Government".
