Description
Color postcard of the Vermonter Motel, which was located adjacent to the Howard Johnson's at 1634 US Route 302 on the Barre Montpelier Road in Berlin, Vermont. In June 2013, it was demolished to provide space for the CVS Pharmacy and its parking lot. The image shows a long motel building with a parking lot spanning the length of the motel and five parked cars. There is a large lawn in front and a forest or line of trees behind the motel. The partially obscured text on the back of the postcard reads: "The Vermonter Hotel: Located on U.S. 302 between Barre and Montpelier, adjacent to 'Howard Johnson' Restaurant. 29 units, each...tile baths, tub and shower, T.V. central heat...Open Year Round. Fernando Saldi."
