Description
Real Photo Postcard of a parade float entitled "A Study in Black and (Bob) White." Five men are in a boxing ring, one appears to be in black face, one had a black eye, one has a megaphone, and two are sitting on stools wearing long robes. Outside the ring, one man is dressed as a woman and two are in blackface and tails. The photo is dated may 23, 1910. According to the Burlington Free Press, May 24, 1910, page 8, "The great college pee-rade, heralded far and wide as the most brilliant pageant of the year, has come and gone. In stately procession, preceded by city officials and the deities of the class rooms, freaks, monsters and monstrosities marched through the princip0al streets of Burlington yesterday at very high noon."
