Italian Athletic Club Lumpers
Title
Italian Athletic Club Lumpers
Description
A group of 11 men and a boy, members of the Italian Athletic Club Lumpers pose for a photograph with shovel, broom, rake, pickaxe, and baseball bat. One man wears a sweater with the IAC logo on it. The men are dressed well and all but one are wearing ties. The man in the back row, center, is Antonio M. Rossi (1883-1918). Writing on the back says that they were 1910 champions. A lumper is a laborer in a granite mill who moves heavy supplies. This may be a team that competed with the Independent Italian Club of Barre.
