Description
An image of the W. A. Stowell Engine, in Montpelier on the tracks for the Montpelier and Wells River Railroad. The engine was named for William A. Stowell, a superintendent for the White Mountains Division of the Boston and Lowell Railroad, the St. Johnsbury and Lake Champlain Railroad, and the Montpelier and Wells River Railroad.
