3rd Vermont Battery National Guidon

Description

National guidon of the 3rd Vermont Light Artillery Battery. Silk with red and white stripes, blue canton and painted stars (only a single star is extant). Guidon may originally have had a swallowtail shape. A sleeve attached guidon to staff. Finial is missing. No determination of manufacturer has been made, though the commander of the battery signed for one guidon in November of 1864.
